I call it "The Short Term"

So currently I am designing a purse. A purse that, if done properly, is going to be so badass my head might explode. Unfortunately, today was filled with errand running and other nonsense (okay so I spent maybe 4 hours or so reading a book that I bought at like 10 am... but I swear to you that I did indeed get stuff done. Just not in a timely manner). So I did not have time to hit the fabric store. On a side note, likely one of many, I work at an Arts & Crafts store. It boggles my mind that they do not have a fabric station. The biggest fabric stuff you can get at my store is 1 yard pieces for quilting. Bleh. So, to get fabric I don't go to The Job, which sucks cuz that discount is sweet. But due to errand-ing, I didn't make it. So instead I decided to bust out the charcoals and do a charcoal rendition of a picture I took on my cell phone. Now, having not used charcoals since my Drawing class 4 years ago, I think I did fairly well. There are some flaws and touch-ups I need to do, but the fixative is still drying so back off. Below you will find the original picture, which was still on my cell phone while I was using it for drawing purposes, so the contrast is a little darker than what the picture looks like on the trusty laptop. So the charcoal is a lot darker and less detailed, which is just dandy by me. After the original pic is a pic of the drawing, also taken with the cell phone cam.

Now, a warning. I do not condone, fascilitate, or participate in drug use. However, I find it fascinating watching people inject their insulin. Don't ask, I'm weird. So I made my buddy pose for this pic while he was doing his thing at (where else) Denny's. Special thanks to him for dealing with my school-girl glee towards watching big men using needles.
